Derail Accessories
Derails are emergency car stopping devices to prevent unauthorized movement of a locomotive or railcar. the derail lifts the flange of the car wheel and drops it clear of the rail. Simultaneously, the wheel opposite the derail is guided off the rail. Once the car wheel leaves the rail, forward movement is greatly impeded.
We Offer Three Types of Derails:
4014-25 Derails - Accessories
Derail lifting lever for hinged derails. 24" long handle. Handle effort to take derail off the rail 15 lbs. Handle effort to put derail back on the rail 20 lbs.
4014-26 Derails - Accessories
Pre-Drilled Steel Shim Plates 1/8" Ready to use shim plates ensure a proper height adjustment and a secure mounting of hinged derails. Two shims needed per derail when shimming is required.
